Deacon Donnie Robbins was ordained on August 24, 2024 and was assigned to Mary Queen of Peace Parish.  Donnie has been a lifelong member of St. Denis and Mary Queen of Peace.  He graduated from Bishop David High School in 1976 and remains a part of Holy Cross High School by participating in the Senior retreats for more than 35 years.  During his high school summers, he began a career in plumbing that continues more than 50 years later. 

Donnie is very proud of his three married children:  Josh (Sherry), Jamie Newton (Ryan), Justin (Heather) and four grandchildren:  Shane, Amelia, and twins Wyatt and Waylon.  Donnie lost his wife and childhood sweetheart, Judy, when she was called home to God in 2017.  They were married for 39 years before her death from breast cancer. 

Donnie has been active in parish life since he was 14.  Most recently as a member of the choir, Art & Environment, Building & Grounds, Worship, and Parish Council.

Many years ago, I was born in a little log cabin. Just kidding.
I am married to Beverly, (October 16, 1965) and we have 3 daughters: Christine, Carolyn and Candee. We also have 4 grandchildren: Stephen, Jocelyn, Andrew and Hunter. I received my BS in Management from U of L in 1970, my MBS in Management from Webster University in 1994. In 1966, I came into full communion with the Catholic Church at Our Lady Parish.

I have been a member of Mary Queen of Peace for 25 years. I retired from Brown-Forman Distillers in 2008 after 39 years as a Senior Inventory Analyst. Beverly and I started Diaconate Training in July, 2002 and I was ordained August 26, 2006. I have been assigned to Mary Queen of Peace for 13 years. It has been a joy to serve the parishioners of Mary Queen of Peace.
